Praça de Espanha Urban Park
- Proposal of a square as the large public space with an aggregating function and in articulation with the surrounding road and pedestrian structure.
The square, protected by a relief covered in Mediterranean woods, has two equipments: Cafeteria and esplanade, articulated with one of the metro exits and on the west side, an exhibition and events space inserted in the terrain.
A large lake as a natural extension of the square, transitions into one of the park entrances, marked by the S. Bento Arch.
The park has an open amphitheatre, children playgrounds, and leisure and fitness equipment.
In the pedestrian articulation with the surrounding avenues, the project features two bridges: The Gulbenkian Bridge and the Theatre’s Bridge.
