Estói Palace Gardens
Objectives:
- Rehabilitate the Palace’s gardens according its conversion into a Historic Hotel
- Integrate the new building in the original morphology
- Safeguard the heritage identity of the building and gardens
- Reclaim the property comprising an architectural and landscape program in connection with future public use of the gardens
The building and gardens, built at the end of the 18th century, were classified as National Heritage Building in 1977.
The exterior areas are managed and maintained by two different entities: On the north side the gardens are maintained and managed by an hotel group, as a complement to the activities developed there.
On the South side is foreseen that the gardens will be managed and maintained by the owner, Faro Municipality.
This situation makes it difficult to have a global vision of the site.
